Hello

Covid Cant Stop Rotary

The covid Lockdown back in March 2020 looked like Rotary was of until we got back to normal. but not for Braunton Caen Rotary we grasped the opportunity to re-look at what we do in our community and we rolled our sleeves up and got involved

Rotary At Work

Beach Clean

We split into groups of six and spread over Down end, Croyde beach and over to Baggy point to clear rubbish following a talk on plastic wast

Monster Compertion

After our plastic talk and Beach Clean Geoff had a creative moment and created a completion for children to make a monster out of plastic, to try and educate how much plastic we put into the recyaling box each week

Spring Clean in Braunton

With it looking like lock down was going to end we decided to go out into the village and clean the streets of weeds. we asked the village to look at the road out side there house and give it a clean.

Baruit Collection

After the devastating explosion in Barute as a club we teamed up with Tesco's who let us collect out side.

Braunton Football *********

We sponsered the Braunton Football ******* with purchasing them rain coats

Lymerics for Lockdown

Peter on of our members during lockdown started to compose Lyrics and decided to put into a book and sell for the Over and Above Hospital Charity

Village Planters

making the effort to keep the village look bright over lockdown we have kept the planter outside Slees looking good

Remembrance Day

A very different Remembrance day this year no porad in the village just a socially distanced service out side the church

VJ Day

As a club we felt we couldn't let this special day go by. So as a club we Socially distance had a little parade by our selves and Patrice lead the proceedings for us

Santa Sleigh Lockdown Style

big desitions on how we was going to do the Christmas Sleigh around the village and in the end we decided to run the routs we normal go but with out nocking on doors. We set up a just giving page and had 2 buckets attached to the sleigh for people to place a donation in.  It was so appreciated this glimmer of normality whilst on the second lockdown Members of club enjoyed it as much as the village. thanks to all that donated

Crocuse on the Green

over the winter we added to the Crocus display in and around the green and entrance to the carpark. the Purple Crocuse to used as a awarnes flower to the End Polio Now campain the Rotary is one of the front leaders in the work to eradicat Polio from the world

Vaccination Centre Help

When the vaccine rollout started and the North Devon Doctors surgeries got together at the Leisure Centre in Barnstaple club members jumped at the chance to help Marshal to make the smooth running of the centre so much easer for everyone. we had help from Friends of the club as well so we could spread the work load around for everyone

Braunton Academy Lateral flow testing centre

We got a call from the School for help with testing all the puples so they could go back to school and restart there education. So volanterring members along with club Freinds sat in on online trainging to learn how to operat the testing  and joing along with acadiny staff in maning 7 boths over 3 weeks to test every pupil.

Virtual Balloon Race

After a talk from the North Devon Hospice to the club President Paula wanted to try and raise some funds for the Hospice, she had seen a Virtual Balloon Race before and thought this would be a good way of having a little fun and raise some much needed funds for the Hospice. Most of all being a Virtual race no balloons would be going into the air and coming down polluting our land and sea which with the environmental work earlier this year made sense
